Two Founders, One Vision
Sōcca was founded by Amber Schryver & Kara Mitchell, two luxury event planners and designers brought together by a shared belief that some of life’s most meaningful moments happen around the table.
With more than two decades of combined experience producing elevated social gatherings, weddings, and immersive events across Florida, Kara and Amber built Sōcca to bring the artistry of fine dining and intentional hosting into a more approachable, effortless format. Through their respective companies, Social Bird Events and Oh My Occasions, the pair became known for creating high-design celebrations layered with thoughtful details, seamless flow, and guest-centered hospitality.
Amber
Amber, an award-winning and published event planner at Oh My Occasions, is known for designing intentional celebrations that blend elevated aesthetics with meaningful guest experiences. With a background in film & television production, she brings a refined editorial eye and years of experience producing luxury events across South Florida and beyond. Having worked red carpet events in Cannes and planned celebrations for celebrities and professional athletes, she approaches every event with a production-worthy standard that feels polished, seamless, and thoughtfully elevated. Rooted in her Chicago upbringing where gathering around the table was central to family life, Amber combines elevated Midwest hospitality approach with intentional experiences designed to bring people together.
Kara
Kara, originally trained in fine arts and fashion design, built Social Bird Events after years of organically planning gatherings for friends and family, transforming her instinct for hospitality, atmosphere, and immersive entertaining into one of Tampa Bay’s standout luxury social event brands. Known for her imaginative approach to event design, Kara creates everything from charity galas and grand openings to unforgettable soirées. Having lived and traveled extensively, she brings a sophisticated global perspective to her work, drawing inspiration from destinations and experiences to create events that feel both elevated and deeply personal. Drawing from a lifetime of creative influence and global inspiration, Kara is passionate about creating experiences that feel welcoming and effortlessly memorable for every guest.
